The demon within us?

What do your secret fears and worries look like? As in the new work "ABSINTHE" 2015 by Moscow artist Dima Rovel. This is a grotesque fantasy about the attractive and at the same time frightening inner world of a person. She takes a worthy place among his other works.

As the artist himself writes, "ABSINTHE" is a reflection of loneliness drowned in a glass of "green snake" (because of the emerald green hue and the strong effect that this drink has on the body, it is also called "green fairy" "- author's note) The intoxication from absinthe is not the same as from the rest of alcohol. He forces himself to see, to feel, to know as closely as possible.

Dima Rovel wants to show an unusual image in which everything mysterious and scary that only exists in the unconscious is intertwined. It looks at you with white eyes without pupils. For some it will seem that they are open, for someone closed, while other viewers, perhaps, will find something else. The author himself says that he does not see the eyes there.

In the picture, one can feel the dynamics due to the combination of green paints and gold leaf. Perhaps this reflects the inner energy of each of us.
Gold leaf makes the picture more realistic, adds volume, sharpens strokes, while very subtly emphasizes the geometry of the work.

"ABSINTHE" is as if alive, ready to give you all its strength. It's like an unpredictable demon, frozen for a moment, then again to continue their crazy dances. Maybe you will move with him to the changing rhythm of your heart?
