Memory - cradle
Do you want to look beyond yourself? Find old dusty suitcase and get out of there your secret thoughts, memories? Now you can do it at the exhibition of surrealist painting "Secrets of an Old Suitcase" by a Moscow artist Svetlana Kalinkina . The exposition takes place from 08.05 to 10.06 in the "Chemodan" anti-cafe.
I open the doors of a cozy cafe-cellar and immediately find myself in another world. I am greeted by a cozy atmosphere: bright sofas, toys, many books. Pictures hang on the red brick walls. They are small monsters with clear eyes. They haven't seen a lot of people yet. They froze, worried, in their bizarre poses and wait: who will come to see them? This is their debut: some were kept by the author himself for a long time, others - in private collections. They finally met together to give us emotions. They seem to be able to do it.
I look at the images. Everyone is very different: both sad, and funny, and cunning, as if they had something in mind. They look like children with their unpredictability and ease, but in their eyes - adult experiences. "Money Oink-Oink", a weasel and a rich man. It probably reflects the material nature of each of us. "Lost Soul" in pale blue colors, blurred like the modern world. It seems to blur the boundaries of your experiences. The soul seems to unite with the "Snow Queen" according to the technique of execution. Both of them are far from reality, they are in themselves, as you are sometimes. Smears are sharp, then weak, as if disappearing.
You find yourself in a world of illusions that seem to turn into reality. Far from everyone - "Strange Face", an image in shades of gray, without clear boundaries. He looks incredulously at the world around him. What does he carry in himself? Maybe a fear of the unknown? Probably, you sometimes try to overcome him, but it is not always easy.
Sometimes monsters seem cold, detached: they are made in dark shades, sometimes - fiery, which can get burned. Such images are in reds, greens, yellows, such as, for example, "Energy Screw". He is like a bundle of emotions, or "Tree Spirit", the keeper of our dreams.
According to Svetlana, the early paintings evoke a feeling of strange pacification in her, while the new ones, on the contrary, are expressive. This is not surprising, the artist has gone from young rebellious creatures to mature adults. They have different characters and fates. It was as if the author looked into her past and found vivid memories there, which she transformed into the present. So you can get the dark, bright moments of life from the depths of your soul and look at them with different eyes. If you are not afraid to do it, then go ahead.
