INDUSTRIAL ROMANCE
How to create a modern interior, laconic, simple in form, but complex in its variety? Sculptor artist Harutyun Hakobyan and glass artist Maria Tikhonova from Simply Form Studio, St. Petersburg, will show you how to transform any room.
An apartment, a private house or an office - they will find their own unusual items of author's work. Art objects from a variety of materials seem to freeze for a moment in their bizarre living poses, as if they want to show their emotions through forms and lines.
In a modern loft style ( originated in the 40s of the 20th century in the New York area and uses former industrial buildings for offices, apartments, etc. - ed.) , For example, glass products that make Maria. They are elegant, serious, but cheerful at the same time.
Plates made of colored molten glass seem weightless and delicate. They remind us of caramel (they are called "caramel") and that's probably why they attract attention. There is a subtle tenderness in them, which is framed by a strict square figure.
The artist explores different forms to bring her ideas to life. To do this, she uses the "fusing" technique ("sintering" pieces of glass in special ovens at high temperatures to further create a whole composition from them - author's note), free blowing, etc.
Harutyun's works are modern and varied: sculpture, fresco, painting. Each of them is like a new look at the surrounding reality. Art objects for the interior are filled with dynamism, they often change their mood. It depends on how you look at them. Abstract figures made of wood, metal are original, perhaps a little detached, while they can create a warm, cozy atmosphere. "We are inspired by contemporary art, loft style. It has the spirit of creativity, rebellion and freedom that so attracts me personally. New ideas immediately come to mind.
Harutyun bears the main load in our workshop, I mainly paint, develop new ideas. We participate in exhibitions, in the future we plan to launch small sculptures in the loft style on sale. "- Maria writes.
