How to create it? Pick up watercolors, paper, colored pencils and learn to draw. But not just drawings, but fashion illustrations, as Nailya Butusova , a young artist, winner of the 2017 Art of Living social advertising festival, does her illustrations for Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Russia (March 12-17, Manezh, Moscow Moscow) is a small journey into the world of subtle tenderness, which can hardly be forgotten. The artist not only reveals to you some of the secrets of drawing, but shows what love to style and fashion is.
Before you are different images: here are fragile creatures in lush, flowing dresses, and decisive ones with bright accessories. They are all so different, but they attract your attention. Each of them is thought out and completed, but there is some understatement in them. Isn't there room for imagination? Light sketches (sketches, sketches - author's note), made in different techniques: watercolors, felt-tip pens, ink and seem to be weightless. They feel life, light breath of spring. And this is not surprising - they are all created with love, inspiration and set up for creativity. And this is the most important thing.
Here you feel some kind of magic in the air - these are girls in weightless dresses as if barely touching the floor. Cinderella who came out of the "Tales of the East" from the brand S peranza Couture by Nadezda Yusupova , charm you with their beauty. Fragile flying fabrics, created as if out of thin air, delicate tones, lace - everything without words speaks of love and Naily seems to be able to reflect this, inspired by the illustrations by Katie Rogers (American artist and illustrator, author of the Paperfashion blog - author's note). Her light sketches are filled with some kind of trepidation that you want to touch them.
“A fluffy dress is a very strong visual element and is often very self-sufficient. Sometimes it is enough to draw folds or a bow, and the illustration is ready! Some illustrators found themselves in the image. dresses ... "- says the artist in her site.
Next - a dive into the mysterious black and white beauty together with the designers of the Borodulin's brand (Alexey and Anna Borodulins). Their collection "Black Tie" is grace and grace that gives weightlessness to images. Patterned black and white dresses, tunics, suits with additions of bright red, blue colors seem strict, but at the same time playful, attractive. Naili's crown illustration here is a girl in a fluffy dress, the embodiment of femininity and sophistication. The artist plays with black because it is the main color, and a graceful image is obtained.
And what lies ahead? A journey into the world of color with the SPY NEVER LIES collection by Julia Dalakian . Sand-colored multi-layered dresses with fringes, voluminous jackets, noble velvet trousers - all with light hints of retro. There are a lot of details in them, so it is interesting to look at and draw them. Nailya decided to play with the background in her illustrations. She uses ink, watercolor and other materials to create vibrant images.
“... What else can be good tools in fashion illustration? This is the background. Sometimes the background can be completely abstract and only visually enriching the illustration, but often it can carry some meaning ... ”- writes the artist.
Before us is a modern independent woman who is not afraid to experiment, but at the same time always remains herself. She is wearing loose but elegant clothes that not only reflect, but complement her.
And here is the eccentric collection of designer Bella Potemkina with a rich pink as the main color. It can be seen that she loves to shock the audience and rebel against stereotypes. Of course, look how she plays with colors: unexpected purple (even the hair of models of the same color), black with pink and white, fur with varnish - what else can you think of to be different from everyone else? Nailya also plays with paints using pencils, watercolor paper, felt-tip pen and white, pink watercolors. Step by step, like magic a bold and extraordinary image is created, a girl in a fuchsia suit, as bright as the modern world. The strokes fall thinly on the paper and you you are slowly but surely carried over into another reality.
And the final chord, illustrations for the collection of Oksana Fedorova . She creates clothes for everyday life, comfortable and elegant at the same time, for a woman who values herself and her time. Of course, she is beautiful, intelligent, which is exactly what the artist wants to emphasize. She focuses on the facial features of the models, subtly reflecting their beauty. It turns out a very beautiful and airy image, covered with cherished dreams.
“In fashion illustrations, it is perfectly acceptable not to draw faces, not to try to make them look alike, but the illustrations depicting a beautiful girl have a very special charm. Very beautiful models took part in Oksana Fedorova's show, and today we will reflect in our works not only the features of the images presented by the designer, but also try to give character to the heroine we draw .. "- explains Nailya.
Fragile illustrations are born in the hands of the artist, everything breathes in them with grace, harmony, because she puts a part of herself into them. You look at the drawings, so different and so attractive that you want to take the paints right now and start creating. So what are we waiting for?
