"I am on the side of the angels ...."
She destroys the world and creates it. She sweetly kills with her music and stirs your blood. Elena Vladi / Elena Vladi, the vocalist, songwriter of the American nu-metal band Red Queen , tells us about the band's sound, image and inspiration.
How did the Red Queen band come about?
Back in Russia, I had a place where we played and rehearsed with friends, and I trained my vocals. Then I moved from Russia to California in 2003 and created a group called Demona Mortiss (2007), then we renamed it Red Queen.
There is something mystical and utterly overt in your music. Why did you choose the heavy sound for your team?
Well, compared to styles like Death Metal, it's not that hard. Our musical genre is Nu-Metal, it is also heavy, but music in this style is more interesting to play, more energetic and emotional.
The group loves to experiment with sound and voice. There is both industrial and gothic, clean and extreme vocals. What else would you like to bring to music in the future?
More electronic aspects in the next album (in 2016, Red Queen released the official EP "Star Blood", which included six singles: "Asyphyx", "Naked", "Star Ruby", "Insidious", "Alchemy" and "Hold Me, Thrill Me, Kiss Me, Kill Me "- author's note).
Tell us, what are the immediate plans of the Red Queen group?
Album in early 2018.
In the videos, you look like a temptress holding a forbidden fruit in her hands. You seduce, you attract. But at the same time, you have something of an angel in you. Which side are you on?
On the side of the angels, those who punish, destroy and create order. After all, angels are not at all what people expect. There is a thin line of "demons" and "angels" - those are such old-fashioned terms, actually. Everything rests on the concept of multi-dimensional beings and depends on vibrations with understanding at the quantum level. Talk about this topic with physics teachers, they will understand what is at stake.
You are wearing BDSM clothes. Who helps you to create images?
Actually, classic stockings and a corset, for example, - this does not mean BDSM . But although I am very deeply familiar with S&M (sadism and masochism - obtaining satisfaction by inflicting pain (physical or psychological) and receiving it - author's note)). What helps me create images? I think my dreams and some movies!
What is your source of inspiration?
My dreams! They are unusual.
Do you have a cherished dream?
No. Everything is as it is. I fulfilled most of my desires myself.
What would you like to wish your listeners?
Advice, of course. Don't listen to music that doesn't have a deep meaning in words. But nevertheless, you also need to listen to what is said to the soul of a person!
